Accurate data and current information is extremely important
One of the most frustrating things for a guest to find out is that the information listed in the property description or the availability calendar is inaccurate or outdated. When researching, guests rely on accurate data and details, to continue the inquiry process. This can refer to the availability, the rates, the amenities, the location or the contact information. Often times, these details play a critical part in deciding on a particular vacation rental.
For that reason, owners should always make it a rule to update their availability calendar on all websites after they take a booking. It is good practice to do this right away. We all know that “life gets in the way” and the good intentions to do it “tonight” often fall by the wayside. So while still on the computer after confirming a booking, try to update this information wherever an availability calendar is posted.
In addition, your rates should always be current and accurate for the condition your property is in. That means that rates could change when certain amenities are not available. For example, such as the pool is under construction, or seasonal changes that are not automatically modified by the listing site (some require manual changes). It is best to have a regular schedule for updating your rates and marking this in your calendar. Your guests will thank you!
A lot of time has gone into the booking and guests have made plans
Guests spend a lot of time planning their holidays. It is a time consuming process for owners as well to respond to inquiries and figure out the details with potential guests. Therefore, getting the basic conditions and data right saves everybody time and hassles!
